BAND HISTORY

Tom Stahl used to drive around in a truck full of paint saying,

"Would you like paddles and strainers with that?" One day, he hurt his back.

He went to the doctor and said, "Doctor! Doctor! It hurts when I do that." The doctor said, "Don't do that." Tom Stahl then started writing songs. And the rest, as they say, is the future.

The Dangerfields have been labeled as R&B, Folk, Rock, Pop, Rockabilly, and Country.

Their sound has been described as a cross between Bob Dylan, Tom Petty & the Barenaked Ladies.

We call it "Dangerfield-esque".

What everyone DOES agree upon is that this is some of the

best songwriting you are likely to hear east of Eden.

SOME QUOTES/TESTIMONIALS

"Stahl writes some of the wittiest and loveliest songs you'll ever hear, and catchy melodies. Live, he is an engaging performer with a unique vocal delivery.

There is nothing typical about Tom Stahl."

Geoff Kelly, Artvoice

“…“Angels” would be perfect for a country, pop or light vocal radio format.

Stahl has provided Buffalo radio with the rare opportunity to break out a

national hit from a local record.”

Anthony Violanti, The Buffalo News

"Tom Stahl, Master Of The Three-Minute Story… It takes a lot of song for a man with a harmonica, a guitar and his voice alone to fill a stage and keep an audience

enthralled for two full sets.”

The Buffalo News

“Tom Stahl & the Dangerfields, an inventive band that

never seems to get the attention it deserves”.

Dan Herbeck, The Buffalo News

His clear tenor conveys a wide range of emotions and takes on a Bob Dylan quality at times… his thoughtful lyrics also at times make a listener think of the prolific

writings of Billy Joel…”

Eileen Hotho, The Sun

“Tom Stahl is one of the most recognizable names in Western New York Music.”
