MEET THE BAND – DAVE COURTEMANCHE
Dave Courtemanche - bass guitar
Dave is the bass player for the Dangerfields, he joined the band in late 2000. A late starter, Dave only began playing bass at the age of 25. Prior to that he annoyed his family with his attempts to study piano as a grade schooler. Not satisfied with merely annoying the members of his own household, he began playing the drum set in high school, thus he succeeded in annoying the neighbors as well. He purchased a guitar at the age of 19. Note that we don't say he began playing guitar at this point because there seems to be some contention as to whether he actually ever managed to wring any noise out of that particular instrument that would be commonly recognized as guitar playing. Upon entering First National Guitar store in Urbana, Illinois, to sign up for guitar instruction, Dave realized that he never wanted to leave the rhythm section and instead purchased a bass guitar that was hanging on the wall. The rest is antihistamine. (Sudafed works quite well for hayfever, by the way.)
A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Dave moved to Buffalo in 1993 for the mild winter weather.
